Safe PHL Budget Priorities

We have a plan that actually addresses the root causes of violence in our community. A bold group of 13 City Council members have proposed using $100 million from the American Rescue Plan Act to address the gun violence crisis in Philadelphia. Our approach should be to make significant investments in prevention in a way that helps us rebuild as a city for years to come. This proposal from city council members achieves just that. We demand that Philadelphia invests $100 million in gun violence reduction programs.

We have the following priorities to reduce gun violence:

  1. Gun Violence Prevention ($15m)
  2. Healing Trauma ($15M)
  3. Safe Havens for Youth and Families ($45M)
  4. Employment and Career Opportunities ($15M)
  5. Community Empowerment ($10M)
